Make your own Alpaca - one for the kids
When the first few kids came to visit our farm and our alpacas my very clever daughter stated that there were lots of lovely alpaca things for the mums to take home but nothing for the kids.
All the kids love putting their hands/arms/head/whole bodies into the bags of alpaca fleece and want to take some home. We thought this way they CAN take some fibre home, and do something with it rather than it get washed in their pockets!
Emma Daisy (the clever daughter I mentioned) is 14 and a budding artist. She designed and drew this alpaca to make the product her own (even though the idea has been used in many places before).
A4 sized the picture comes with a ball of alpaca wool that the kids can glue on to make their own alpaca, give it a name, colour it in and keep it. Yep, you can say 'yes' next time they ask for an alpaca of their own. They can even choose what colour they'd like - black, brown and fawn!
The great sales person she is, managed to negotiate a commission rate of her own after printing and fibre costs... and considering she prints them, sorts and weighs the fibre and packs them herself it is a pretty good deal.
**There are a limited number available and even though the design and colours are generally similar, the individual pieces all vary. It's part of the charm of buying handmade.**
